Reflections of MLK, Jr. In a time where the world seems to be against one another at all costs, today is a day where we should stop to think and reflect back on one man who tried his best to make a difference in this world.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man of core, solid beliefs. He believed that a nation founded on the premise of Freedom and Justice for all should include every man, woman, and child, regardless of color, creed, nationality, race, or beliefs. Dr. King encouraged the people of our great country to live up to America’s full potential and purpose. He often promoted his beliefs by organizing protests, non-violent protests. Above all, Dr. King played likely the most important role in advancing civil rights in America.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man of many words. Go out to any social media site and you will see a number of quotes this great man is famous for.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.’
“The time is always right to do what is right.”
“Free at last, free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last.”
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re all in the same boat now.”
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.”
“We are not the makers of history. We are made by history.”
“No person has the right to rain on your dreams.”
“We cannot walk alone.”
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judges by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
The world still stands in shock that a man of this caliber was taken far too soon from us, his brutal assassination is one we will remember always. It is up to us to carry on the very important work of this great man. He once had a dream, let us commit to continue to live it for him.
Reflections of MLK, Jr. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and reflect upon the message. We understand this is not a typical post for a dental office, but we felt today was an important day for reflection and the need to come together for a single, united purpose. Be Kind.
Thank you to the Late Howard Sochurek, Photographer, LIFE Magazine, for capturing this amazing photo of Dr. King.
