Many of you have asked why we are taking the time during a day when the office is normally open for patient care, to host a blood drive with Carter BloodCare.
In addition to wanting to give back to our local community and our blood supply which has been hit so hard by Covid-19, we also have a very personal reason.
In June 2020, Heather Dorman, our Practice Manager, and her husband welcomed their 6th grandson into the world! Yep, they have their very own team of perfect little guys. The first 5 grand babies were delivered, much to the same routine of one another, so there was no reason to think number 6 would not follow suite.
This delivery for Heather’s daughter, Sami, and her immensely proud husband, Tref, ended up being quite different from the last one.
First, the delivery came during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Second, the delivery quickly turned into a life or death situation for Heather’s daughter Sami.
On June 4, 2020, Sami ended up needing 4 units of blood and 4 units of blood platelets during her delivery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco.
Thankfully, blood WAS AVAILABLE for Sami when it was most needed, saving her life.
It is in these moments that we come together as a community to protect our family, friends, and neighbors.
So please join us, Thursday, October 8th, 2020 from Noon to 5pm as we GIVE LIFE HERE.

This was Heather’s why…
Carter Blood Care is offering free COVID-19 Antibody Testing for all donors when you give. This may be your why.
Some of you may remember Sami – she entered the dental world right beside her mom at Flower Mound Dental admin and assisting Dr. William E. Wyatt Jr. in 2004
The photos are of her and her beautiful family.
